These terms are an agreement between you and Centability ("Centability", "we", "us") about your use of the Centability app and this website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Centability
You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States. You may use the Service only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
2. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date; we use it to reach you about your account.
- Keep your password, authenticator app and recovery codes safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us right away at support@centability.app if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Linking your accounts
You can link bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts through Plaid Inc. By linking an account, you authorize us and Plaid to retrieve information from your financial institution on your behalf, and you agree to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You confirm that you're allowed to access the accounts you link.
Centability shows the information your financial institutions provide. It can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and categories are assigned automatically and may not match how you'd describe a purchase. Check your institution's statements before relying on any figure. Centability can't move money, make payments or make changes at your bank.
4. Not financial advice
Budgets, insights, alerts and other information in the Service are for your general information. They aren't financial, investment, tax, credit or legal advice, and Centability isn't a bank, broker or financial adviser. You're responsible for your financial decisions; consider talking to a qualified professional about your situation.
5. Buddies and group challenges
If you add a budget buddy or join a group challenge, the other people in it see the limited information described in our Privacy Policy. Only invite people who'd want to hear from you, and don't use these features to harass anyone.
6. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use the Service for anything illegal or fraudulent, or link accounts you aren't allowed to access;
- try to get into other people's accounts or data, or into parts of the Service you aren't given access to;
- interfere with the Service, overload it, or get around its security or limits;
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the Service, except as the law allows despite this restriction.
7. Our rights and yours
The Service, including its software, design and content, belongs to Centability and its licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the app store you got it from. Your data is yours; you let us use it only to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything.
8. Changes to the Service
We're improving Centability all the time, so features may change or be removed. Some features may be offered for a fee in the future; we'll show you the price and terms before you're ever charged.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and delete your account in the app at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if we stop offering the Service; where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first. Sections 4, 7 and 10 to 13 continue to apply after your account ends.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that information in it will be accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Centability won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings or data, arising from your use of the Service, including any financial decision you make based on it. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.
13. Disputes
Before bringing a claim, please contact us at support@centability.app so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Centability is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we may also bring qualifying claims in small claims court.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree to the new terms before you continue. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
15. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service.
If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple isn't a party to these terms and isn't responsible for the app or its support, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
